The Artist, Robert S. Sleicher

As one writer noted, “Robert Sleicher’s art is studiously planned, the mood natural, real and consequently very powerful.”  Whether painting his beloved “Forever Wild” country of the Adirondacks or the vast American West, Robert Sleicher’s art transports the observer into areas that are seldom ever seen by humans, creating sense of wonderment and awe.  He is a member of the prestigious Society of Animal Artists, New York, NY, which recognizes him as one of the 50 Best Known Wildlife Artists in America.  Mr. Sleicher has painted many of the covers for the award-winning magazine New York State Conservationist, Yankee, and other wildlife related publications.  His artwork hangs in more than 100 permanent public and private collections in the United States and around the world.  Among them are the following: Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lake Placid Club, Adirondack Museum, Abercrombie and Fitch, Smithsonian, Gloria Vanderbilt, Boston Museum, and Robert Model Rockefeller.    Winner of more than 30 major awards, Bob Sleicher at age 83 continues to paint from his home in Norwood, New York.
